Week 36: Excellence for God’s Glory

“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.” – 1 Corinthians 10:31 (CSB)

Excellence isn’t about perfection or recognition; it’s about glorifying God. Everything we do in worship ministry—whether onstage or behind the scenes—should point back to Him. When we strive for excellence with the right heart, we reflect His greatness and draw others closer to Him. We want to draw full attention to Christ, fostering heartfelt worship in response to His Glory.

This week, let’s focus on pursuing excellence not for ourselves, but as an act of worship that magnifies the glory of God.

For musicians, excellence for God’s glory means focusing on worship above performance. Every note, every lyric, and every moment on stage should reflect your love for God and your desire to lead others into His presence.

For the tech team, excellence for God’s glory means approaching each task with care, knowing that your work sets the stage for others to encounter Him. From the lighting to the sound, let every detail point people to Christ.

  1. Personal Reflection: Pray and dedicate your efforts to God’s glory this week, asking Him to use you for His purposes.

  2. Team Reflection: Reflect as a team on how excellence in your ministry has glorified God and impacted the congregation.

  3. Sunday Preparation: Serve on Sunday with the mindset that every action—big or small—is for the glory of God.
