Based in Lynchburg, Virginia, Judd spends his weekdays at Liberty University where he helps train and shepherd the students of the Liberty Worship Collective, the university’s main campus worship team. He is a mentor and coach to student worship leaders as well as a songwriter for the LWC. He also travels many weekends as a friend and brother to churches and conferences alike where he seeks simply to serve. How to Lead with Your Presence in His Presence (Vocals) - Candice Mayers (Main Aud)

As vocalists, our role is to help lead people into a greater awareness of the presence of God through musical worship. This breakout will give a theological foundation of how and why we lead, along with giving practical tips for using our vocal and physical presence to lead our congregations in worship well.

Electric Guitar - Brandon Vandendool (Cameron Hall C)

In this session, we will take a look at some of the most important aspects of playing guitar in a modern church context. We will discover how a guitarist can best serve their worship team and congregation by having the right heart, head, tone, and technique.

Acoustic Guitar - Adam Brodrecht (Youth Cafe)

I picked up a guitar for the first time when my Grandfather handed me my first guitar in 1995 and I’ve been passionate about acoustic ever since. Dave Matthews brought a lot of inspiration to me with his style of playing and how he would create chords in unconventional shapes and patterns. It made me realize that there is so much more to the guitar than the first 4 frets. I believe that as Worship Musicians we bring joy to the Lord when we offer our gift to Him. I believe that He has placed this gift in us to be cultivated and to continually grow. And in a corporate worship setting that we are there to facilitate a beautiful moment when the body of Christ can collectively bring our offering of worship to Him. My hope is to be developing my guitar playing to always serve these moments of worship, being a compliment, not a distraction. I welcome you to join me on the journey.

Heart of Worship: Embracing the Call to Serve! - Steve Peng and Leah Sherk (Room 204)

Leading worship, helping with tech, or singing and playing on a worship team is not a ‘job.’ It is not a ‘hobby.’  It is not ‘just something to do on a Sunday.’   It’s a CALLING! Come let’s learn and share together how one hears God’s voice to serve in a worship ministry.

Tech Team : You are Worship Leaders - Keith Sparrow (Prayer Room 101)

Tech Team - You are worship leaders.  Too often the “Worship Leader” is held up as the one at centre stage that “leads worship.” Truthfully, we are all worship leaders, no matter what role we play on a Sunday morning.  We will discuss and learn various practices and will help us to shape the way we prepare, create and implement the various technical aspects of the worship service to help lead our congregations into meaningful, expressive worship of Jesus.  Yes, this can be done from both behind a guitar and from behind a computer screen.

Burnout in Ministry - Bonita Eby (Library 103)

As worship leaders, we passionately give of ourselves toward a cause we believe in deeply. But sometimes, the energy required to lead our congregations and teams, along with the time commitment, can take its toll.

In this workshop, we will learn proven strategies for soul care and self-care so we can prevent and overcome burnout. We'll explore five priorities for leader care and engage with one another through equipping, discussions and an interactive process for managing stress.

Songwriting as a creative process is one that affords us an opportunity to seek out the One who is seeking us. From the beginning of an idea to the finishing lines of a song, the entire songwriting process — whether collaborative or alone in a room with Jesus — is another well of communion with God Almighty that affords any willing to try a deeper.

This practical workshop explores the integration of multiple languages and cultures into church worship practices. In an increasingly diverse world, churches seek to embrace cultural richness while honoring their spiritual traditions. Through real-world examples, attendees will discover strategies for fostering inclusive worship experiences that celebrate the mosaic of languages and cultures within congregations. They will gain practical insights to cultivate unity and harmony in multi-cultural worship settings. Join us on a journey of exploration and empowerment as we navigate the beautiful tapestry of multi-cultural worship in the church.

The Role of the Worship Leader - Sean Saunders (Room 201)

In many churches, the role of the worship leader is seen as nothing more than a song leader. However, the worship leader has a much greater role, both implicitly by virtue of their platform, and explicitly by virtue of what God calls worship leaders to in the Bible. This session explores the various pastoral roles that worship leaders serve, and teaches participants how to grow more deeply in understanding and embracing these roles.

Theological Foundations of Worship - Doug Thomson (Room 106)

We often feel like we know when we’ve worshipped God, but the reality is, that God demands to be worshipped in exactly thee way that He has prescribed. It is imperative that we we figure out from His own Word, exactly how God wants to be worshipped.
